Pricewise Grocery Privacy Policy
Pricewise Grocery helps shoppers compare grocery prices, review flyer deals, and plan grocery trips. This Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected, how it is used, and the choices available to users of the Pricewise Grocery mobile apps and related services.
This policy applies to Pricewise Grocery on iOS and Android. Some features described below may only be available on one platform or in a future version. The Android 1.0 version does not currently require account sign-in, precise location permission, notification permission, camera access, microphone access, contacts access, or photo/video library access.
Information We Collect
Information you provide or choose to use
- Search terms, selected grocery items, category filters, store preferences, shopping list choices, watchlist choices, and price comparison interactions.
- Account information such as name, email address, phone number, user ID, and sign-in provider information if account sign-in is enabled and you choose to sign in.
- Receipt information if receipt scanning, receipt upload, or receipt saving is enabled and you choose to use those features.
- Location or area information if you grant location permission or manually enter a postal code, city, area, or preferred store location.
- Messages you send to us, including support requests and privacy requests.
Information collected automatically
- App activity, feature usage, app interactions, diagnostics, and performance information.
- Device and app information such as device type, operating system, app version, language, general region, identifiers, and crash or diagnostic data.
- Advertising-related identifiers and ad interaction data when ads are shown through Google AdMob or related advertising services.
- Approximate location inferred from IP address by service providers, even when the app does not request Android location permission.
Grocery, flyer, and catalog data
Pricewise reads grocery catalog, flyer, price, store, and deal data from backend services such as Firebase Firestore. This shared catalog data is used to show grocery search results and store deal information.
How We Use Information
- To provide grocery price search, flyer comparison, store deal discovery, shopping list, receipt, notification, and watchlist features where available.
- To show relevant grocery results, compare sale and regular prices, and improve deal recommendations.
- To maintain, secure, debug, and improve the app and backend services.
- To measure app performance, understand feature usage, detect errors, and prevent abuse.
- To show advertising, measure ad performance, limit ad fraud, and support ad personalization where permitted.
- To respond to support, privacy, deletion, and other user requests.
Third-Party Services
Pricewise uses service providers that may collect, process, or receive information as part of providing app functionality, analytics, hosting, cloud storage, database, advertising, diagnostics, and security services.
- Firebase and Google Cloud services, including Firebase Analytics and Firebase Firestore.
- Google AdMob and Google Mobile Ads SDK for advertising and ad measurement.
- Apple and Google platform services, where platform sign-in, notifications, maps, app stores, or operating system features are used.

Advertising
Pricewise may show ads using Google AdMob. AdMob and related Google advertising services may use device identifiers, advertising identifiers, app activity, approximate location, ad interaction data, and similar information to provide, measure, personalize, and protect advertising services.
You can manage ad personalization choices through your device settings and Google ad settings where available. In regions where consent is required for personalized ads or related storage, Pricewise may show a consent prompt or rely on platform and Google consent tools.
Analytics And Diagnostics
Pricewise may use Firebase Analytics and related Google services to understand app usage, diagnose issues, improve reliability, and measure feature performance. These services may collect app interactions, device information, identifiers, diagnostics, and approximate location information.
Data Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers that operate the app, provide analytics, host backend services, deliver advertising, prevent fraud, maintain security, process support requests, or comply with legal obligations. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect users, to protect our rights, or in connection with a business transfer.
Data Retention
We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, including to provide the app, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and improve our services. Some information may remain in backups, logs, app store records, analytics systems, or service provider systems for a limited period according to their retention practices.
Your Choices And Controls
- You can choose not to sign in where sign-in is optional.
- You can choose not to use receipt, watchlist, location, notification, or shopping list features where they are available.
- You can change app permissions such as location, notifications, camera, and photos in your device settings when those permissions are requested by a platform version.
- You can manage Android advertising ID settings, iOS tracking and ad settings, and Google ad personalization settings where available.
- You can uninstall the app to stop future app data collection from that device.
- You can contact us at pricewisegrocery@gmail.com to ask privacy questions or request deletion of information associated with your account or support messages, where applicable.
Children
Pricewise is not designed for children under 13 and is not directed to children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it where required.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International Processing
Pricewise and its service providers may process and store information in Canada, the United States, and other countries where service providers operate. Data protection laws may differ from those in your location.
Current Android 1.0 Notes
The Android 1.0 version currently focuses on grocery price search, flyer deal discovery, Firebase-backed catalog and price data, Firebase Analytics, and AdMob banner advertising. It does not currently request Android permissions for precise location, approximate location, notifications, camera, microphone, contacts, or photos/videos.
Changes To This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Pricewise changes. When we update it, we will post the new version at this URL and update the "Last updated" date.
